THe man I bought my L2800 Kubota from was adament that at the 50 HR service I have the Dealer change all fluids in the tractor, including axels, everything.Price $500.But when I called 3 dealers in my area thay all gave an estiment 4 a normal fluid/filter change.Price $200.When I asked why thay didnt change all fluids thay said the filters did agood enough job but would change everything if I still wanted.Does anybody know if this is overkill or would it pay in the long run to change all?.Thanx

Roadmaster98; The 50 hr. service is the most important service interval of your tractors life. No matter who the manufacturer, bits of steel shavongs, sand from the molds etc can escape the cleanup at the factory. $500. bucks sounds a bit steep. I've always been an advocate of using only the fluids and filters sold by the dealer specific for your brand (Kubota= Kubota oils and filters/Deere = Deere oils and filters, etc.). If you are physicaly able and mechanicly inclined enough to change the oil in your pickup, your dealer and your owners manual will guide you thru it easily. Best of luck. Frank. ....

So I said okay, was not told when the filter came off the fluid came out, so I did change the hyd oil with a very quick drain. Don't know it works that way on all Kubota models. But it taught me it was much dryer to drain the fluid first.

Following up on Hardwood, I rather change my tractor than a pickup, easier access. As Hardwood said, I would change the fluid. kt ....

Agreed, 50 hr svc is important, personally I'd buy the fluids and filters from the dealer, keep the receipts and do the job myself and save the labor, which it 60% of dealer estimates, receipts prove up if warranty issue comes up in the future. ....
